Task Force
The National Knowledge and Intellectual Property Management Taskforce is a nine year-old research and development consortium. It presently is focusing on 1) defining the effects of IP on corporate investment decisions; 2) defining the issues, obstacles and needs in order to establish a national framework to support IP based commerce; and 3) defining the corporate capabilities required to engage in IP based commerce.

Created by Ocean Tomo in cooperation with the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, the City of Chicago, and the State of Illinois, the Intellectual Property Exchange Chicago, LLC (“IPX Chicago”) is planned as the world’s first financial exchange with an intellectual property focus. IPX Chicago is targeted to begin trading the first quarter of 2010 and will enable investor and company participation in a broad spectrum of IP-related financial products such as qualified equity listing/co-listing; IP related indexes, futures and options; IP-backed debt instruments; patent rich company IPOs; and, new IP-based exchange-traded products (eg.
